These were prepared to assist policyholder in coming to their decision about the Aviva offer to buy out policyholders interest in the inherited estates of CGNU and CULAC. The reattribution was approved in the High Court on 19 September 2009 (see ‘News & Articles')

01) Am I eligible?

Aviva has written to policyholders to confirm individual eligibility. It may also be dependent on the type of contract you have and its investment in the affected with-profits funds. After a series of discussions with the Policyholder advocate, Clare Spottiswoode and Aviva along with an independent adviser have agreed that to be eligible a policy must meet at least three rules and they are:

1. That it must be invested in the CGNU Life Assurance Limited and/or Commercial Union Life Assurance Company Limited. This would include Norwich Union Life (RBS) Limited and Norwich Union International Limited policies

2. It must have been in force on the 21st November 2006

3. With some exceptions, it must still be in force on the day reattribution takes place, which is expected to be 1 October 2009 at the earliest.

More details are available on Aviva's website where you can see whether your policy is potentially eligible and this is www.aviva.co.uk/fundtransfer.
